iSCSI Hub

iSCSI Tools and Calculators

Use the calculator to compare a proposed iSCSI connection with its assumed storage ceiling. Start with the number of network paths, then consider the request size and queue depth. The calculation runs in your browser and needs no account or uploaded configuration.

iSCSI Throughput and MPIO Calculator

Compare one, two or four assumed 10 Gbps paths with selectable storage media and request sizes. The calculator estimates throughput, bandwidth-limited IOPS and the average completion-time budget implied by queue depth. Use it to identify which assumption needs attention before changing the connection design.

Choose inputs that describe your design

  1. Count the paths intended to carry I/O. The model assumes evenly loaded paths; it does not detect your adapters or inspect a multipath policy.
  2. Select a media preset as a planning assumption. Its throughput figure is not a specification for your particular drive, pool or array.
  3. Choose a request size and queue depth, then compare the results across scenarios. Record the inputs alongside any estimate so the number retains its context.

Turn an estimate into a configuration check

The results describe the calculator's assumptions. They do not establish measured performance, random-access capability or successful failover on your equipment. Read iSCSI targets, LUNs and MPIO before deciding how a client should own the storage and connect its paths.

For platform configuration, follow the Unraid, TrueNAS and Synology target guide. For a connection that already fails, use the login, timeout and path error guide to match the reported symptom to the next check.
